According to his twitter account, Peterson has agreed to a 5-year extension with the Arizona Cardinals that is worth $70.05 million overall and includes $48 million in guaranteed money:

Peterson’s deal will pay him slightly more than Sherman’s, both in terms of guaranteed money and annual salary. Sherman’s 4-year, $57.4 mil extension holds a value of $14 million annually, while Peterson’s is worth $14.01 per year, although Sherman’s per-year guaranteed average of $10 million trumps Peterson’s $9.6 mil. Peterson still has two years remaining on the rookie deal he signed after being drafted 5th overall in 2011, the same year Sherman was drafted 154th overall.
In three seasons, Peterson has made 151 tackles and picked off 12 passes while also doubling and one of the NFL’s most dangerous punt returners. He has also caught 10 passes for 64 yards and rushed seven times for 34 yards.
