The Indiana Pacers have agreed to a four-year deal worth $18 million with free agent swingman C.J. Miles, reports Y! Sports.
The Pacers desperately needed to upgrade their bench after getting little to no production from their reserves throughout the regular season and playoffs. Miles is a 6-6 wing that can shoot, and should be an immediate factor off the bench for Indiana.
Miles played for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, averaging 9.9 points in a part-time starting role. Although his contract is about fair market value for a player of Miles’ caliber, his risk of injury is higher than one would prefer. Miles missed 31 games due to injury last season and has only played close to a full season once in his nine-year career to date.
The Pacers are also trying to re-sign Lance Stephenson but may not have enough to retain the talented yet unpredictable guard.
