I would like to thank the entire Kentucky family for this year, but I have decided to take the next step and enter into the NBA draft.
— Julius Randle (@J30_RANDLE) April 22, 2014
Randle, who helped lead Kentucky to the NCAA Championship game this season, joins Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid and teammate James Young as early entrants that are all expected to be lottery picks come June’s draft.
As a freshman, Randle averaged 15 points and 10.4 rebounds per game for the Wildcats and had 24 double-doubles on the season. Although he is a bit undersized for NBA standards at 6’8″, Randle’s relentless approach, athleticism and touch around the basket make him a top prospect for NBA teams needing an interior presence for the future.
