Woman hammers wrong Jets franchise for signing Michael Vick

michael vick jets Even though veteran quarterback Michael Vick paid his debt to society for running an illegal dog-fighting ring years ago, some still hold a grudge against him. Take for instance a woman named Thelma, who attacked the Jets on Facebook for signing Vick.

One problem; Thelma sent her complaint to the Newcastle Jets — an Australian soccer team — and not the New York Jets:

Kudos the Newcastle for not only responding to the woman, but also for educating her on the actual football positives of Vick signing with the NFL Jets. Because, you know, QBs are signed by franchises for their ability on the field, not necessarily their off-the-field exploits.

We’d wager that Ms. Thelma doesn’t watch much football at all; she obviously needed the lesson. If she did, she’d understand that Vick is an upgrade over both Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez, who was released the same day Vick was signed.

H/T to Back Page Football for the find.
