Check out Love’s post-game interview after Minnesota were drubbed 109-92 by the Grizzlies Monday night and tell me this isn’t the look of a man defeated:
Love looks the way he does because, frankly, the Timberwolves are supposed to be better than a 34-35 team. They were supposed to be a lock for a lower playoff seed, not seven games behind the Suns for the eighth spot. And it’s not as if Love hasn’t carried his weight; he’s statistically one of the NBA’s best players and is averaging 26.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists. But for some reason, Minnesota can’t seem to win a close game to save their lives.
Love can opt out of his current deal after the 2014-2015 season, but I’d bet that he’s gone from Minnesota sooner than that. Clearly the man deserves to experience better success in the prime of his career.
