Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been fined $20,000 by the NBA and suspended for Friday’s game against the Lakers, according to multiple reports.
Cousins lost his composure in the Kings blowout loss to the Rockets Tuesday night and received two technical fouls in the third quarter, one for his reaching to a foul on Dwight Howard and another for confronting an official moments later. Cousins also was fined for striking Rockets guard Patrick Beverly in the stomach earlier in the quarter. Here’s video of the punch and Cousins’ outburst that led to his ejection:
Cousins apologized for his actions Tuesday on Twitter hours after the game:
Disappointed with the way I acted out on the court tonight. I want to apologize and say sorry to my team and the fans for letting them down

Cousins is having the best season of his career this year and leads the Kings in both points (22.3) and rebounds (11.5). He leads all NBA centers in scoring so far this season.
