It’s been over four years—or exactly 1,502 days—since we’ve been able to say this: Greg Oden, yes THAT Greg Oden, played in an NBA game. Now a member of the Miami Heat, the former No.1 overall pick was activated for Wednesday night’s game against the Washington Wizards. Coming off the bench, it didn’t take long for Oden to score his first points for the Heat, on a dunk no less. All told the 25-year-old Oden tallied six points and two rebounds in eight minutes. Amazingly enough Oden made it through those eight minutes without getting injured which is a minor miracle in and of itself.
Needless to say, Oden was a tad pleased to be back playing in the NBA…
Despite Oden’s triumphant return to game action, the Heat lost to the Wizards 114-97.
