According to LeBron James, the Heat’s outside shooters have already started complaining about the sleeves. Here are details, courtesy of Joe Goodman from the Miami Herald:
LeBron said in pregame that the Heat’s shooters “are already upset about” the Christmas jerseys.
LEBRON: “I can’t have my shooters out there worrying about some sleeves and not shooting the ball.”
That’s a great point by the Heat’s gunners. Most shooters will agree that they can get distracted by anything that disrupts their comfort-ability and rhythm; shooting backgrounds, sleeves, and other things all can be problematic to a shooter. It’s very similar to kickers in football; if their routine is disrupted, the results may be affected.
Not to mention that the Christmas jerseys are down right hideous and look more like soccer uniforms than basketball. But that’s a story for another day. If it was up to us, the NBA would scrap the sleeved jersey experiment all together. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, as the old saying goes.
