With the number of MLB free agents signing deals recently there’s little surprise the New York Yankees have been among the more active teams. They’ve added veteran catcher Brian McCann, bringing him in on a five-year, $85 million deal. They also committed $153 million over seven years to former Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury. Having lost Curtis Granderson and Robinson Cano earlier in the day, the Yankees continued to add reshape their team on Friday.

The 36-year old Beltran was named to his eighth All-Star team this past season and produced a .296/.339/.491 batting line with 24 home runs and 84 RBI in 145 games for the St. Louis Cardinals.
