Jeff Garcia contacted Browns about QB position

jeff garciaHow bad has Brandon Weeden been at quarterback for Cleveland this season? So bad that former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia, now 43, has contacted the Browns looking for a tryout:

Garcia told 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland that he would be interested in playing for the Browns, who are currently deciding between Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell as their starter.

“I actually reached out to the Browns and said ‘work me out, take a look, I’m open to the opportunity,’” Garcia said, via Keith Britton.

Apparently the Browns weren’t interested, and honestly why would they be? Garcia hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2008 and can’t be much better than Weeden or Campbell (Garcia last held a roster spot with the Texans in 2011). It appeared as if the Browns had a little steam building with Brian Hoyer before he went down with an injury in his third start of the season.

Plus, they’d probably have better chances with Garcia’s pupil JaMarcus Russell rather than Garcia himself.

It is ridiculous to blame Brandon Weeden. In a lot of his games, his throws were right to the receivers and they dropped them.

In the Buffalo game, he came in and played better than “the starter”….but people like to forget that!

If they get rid of Weeden, then they deserve the losses that they will accrue…..and as a Bills fan, I will laugh!

You need to go take a wiz quiz. In the Bills game Hoyer was injured the second time they had the ball
