Manny Ramirez gave us all a blast from the past when he found his way back into headlines as he signed a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers after playing in Taiwan this season.
The 41-year-old Ramirez was in the lineup for the first time on Sunday for Triple-A Round Rock. This was his first hit in his return to American baseball:
Ramirez finished the game going 1-3 with that single and got on base with a walk as well.
It’s hard to imagine Manny being a key guy for the Rangers any time soon, but if he keeps producing in the minors, it’s not far-fetched at all to expect to see him in the big leagues before season’s end.
H/T to Big League Stew.
