The Cleveland Indians defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 Thursday afternoon to take two of the three games in their series. Starting pitcher Danny Salazar earned the win in his major league debut and surely deserved all of the attention he received afterward. He allowed just two hits, one walk, and one earned run over six innings while striking out seven.
I would imagine Indians relief pitcher Cody Allen also fielded some questions in the locker room after the game, for this 86 mph curveball he threw to Blue Jays outfielder Rajai Davis.
According to data from Brooks Baseball, Allen’s curveball had resulted in a swing & miss 19.39% of the time this season. This has to be among the more memorable ones.
