A few days after the city was victimized by the bombings at the Boston Marathon the Red Sox held a ceremony at Fenway Park prior to their first game at the stadium since the tragedy took place. A video tribute was played. There were marathon volunteers along the Green Monster. Boston Police commissioner Edward Davis was present as well as other law enforcement officers and state and local politicians. Signs could be seen throughout the stands with messages of support.
And there was a memorable speech by Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz.
Not surprisingly, Ortiz is offering his support to the those who were affected that April day.
