Stephen Curry has been the breakout star of this season and even more so in the 2013 NBA Playoffs. His young Golden State Warriors have been shocking the league as they now hold a 3-1 lead over the Denver Nuggets in the first round.
In game four on Sunday, though, it seemed like Curry might finally be stopped through the first half when he finished with just seven points on 1-3 shooting and 1-2 three-point shooting.
He wasn’t even close to being done or being stopped.
Curry exploded in the third quarter, scoring 22 points while going 8-11 from the field and going 5-8 from deep. He also hit his only free throw attempt. All of those field goals are seen here:
It’s not just that he exploded scoring-wise, he was hitting amazing shots like pull-up threes in traffic, pull-up threes after beating his man with a crossover, and, my personal favorite, a ridiculous scoop shot after an almost-turnover. Curry was absolutely unconscious.
He was sidelined early in the fourth quarter after being poked in the eye, but finished with 31 points and seven assists for the game. It’s safe to say that Stephen Curry has arrived, ladies and gentlemen.
H/T to SB Nation.
