Led by manager Joe Maddon, the Tampa Bay Rays have to be one of the more fun Major League Baseball teams to play for. The clubhouse seems lively and entertaining more often than not. Last year’s AL Cy Young Award winner, David Price, talked earlier this year about how good Rays players have it playing for Maddon.
Part of what makes Maddon popular among his players, aside from his abilities as a manger, are his now famous themed road trips. We’ve seen the Rays dress up like nerds, wear 1950’s style hats, sport all white outfits, and put on crazy wigs in the past.
After starting out the 2013 season with six straight home games Tampa Bay took to the road for the first time this week for a three-game series in Texas versus the Rangers. To mark the occasion the Rays broke out letterman jackets.
