Renaldo Balkman was drafted by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft and went on to have a brief, uneventful career with New York and the Denver Nuggets before traveling overseas to play in the Philippine Basketball Association.
Well, alright. I wonder if they have anger management specialists over in the Philippines. Balkman took to Twitter to issue an apology for his actions:
I wld like to apologize to the fans, Petron Blaze, my teammates, the PBA and especially @tubidronald71 and @arwind029
— Renaldo Balkman (@R_Balkman32) March 8, 2013
I got caught up in the moment of a very intense game.I respect @arwind029 as a person & player.I am proud to be part of@petronblaze fam.

This was unintentional towards @arwindsotnas,I ama team player who always has the best interest of the team at heart.

Balkman does get some credit for owning up to his actions, but there is never any excuse for losing your cool to that level in professional basketball.

corz we have anykind of specialist here in the ph.u just have player that are not mentally fit.that kind of player should not be allowed to enter the court anymore…
What a joke! This guy is an embarrassment to any baller! HMMMMM, no wonder he no longer plays in the NBA.
The joke can be seen at 3:16 minutes, two police security sitting on their butts watching intently on the altercation happening in front of them, what a bunch of bums.
