With player safety at the forefront of sports, many fights in the NHL these days involve a few glancing blows and the tussle ultimately ending in a stalemate.
On Tuesday when the Philadelphia Flyers played the Tampa Bay Lightning, Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo wasn’t about to have his fight with B.J. Crombeen end that way.
Despite the awkward form necessitated by fights on the ice, Rinaldo was absolutely throwing haymakers at Crombeen. And when one connected squarely, it was goodnight, Crombeen.
After seeing this, I’d bet that players will be a little more hesitant to step up to Rinaldo.
