If you haven’t heard, Quentin Tarantino’s controversial movie “Django Unchained” has been all the buzz during the holiday season and beyond. The movie premise is set in slave times and is about a slave who becomes a bounty hunter in hopes of freeing his wife (go check it out. It’s interesting and entertaining, to say the least).
Apparently Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem took akin to the film, and told reporters he would like to go by a new name this year:
From now on, Haslem says no longer wants to be called Udonis or ‘UD’. He said address him in 2013 as Django, FWIW.

I don’t know how well his new nickname will be received given the nature of its origin, but I doubt anyone will question Udon… I mean Django in 2013.
H/T to The Basketball Jones for the scoop

“Slave times” is the new dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. There are more slaves around the world today then there ever have been at any other point in history.
Slavery really didn’t happen. It was made up, Google it and you’ll see.
