Ravens LB Ray Lewis to retire after the playoffs

Lewis is a sure-fire Hall of Famer and will be regarded as one of the best middle linebackers in NFL history. The Ravens selected Lewis 26th overall in the 1996 draft, and Lewis has been a steady influence and leader of their great defensive play ever since.

In 17 seasons, Lewis has amassed 1,573 tackles, 41.5 sacks, and 31 interceptions. Lewis, a 13-time Pro Bowl selection, was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2000 and 2003, and led the Ravens to a Super Bowl title in 2000. Lewis was also named a First-Team All-Pro seven times.
