Chip KellyChip Kelly, head coach of the high-powered Oregon Ducks football team, reportedly will be hired by the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Chris Mortensen:

Just two weeks ago Kelly told the Eagles that he would be returning to Oregon but apparently Philadelphia made Kelly an offer he couldn’t refuse. The Eagles have been searching for a head coach ever since firing Andy Reid after Reid was with the team 14 seasons.

It will be interesting to see how Kelly plans to turn around an Eagles team that has been one of the most disappointing in the NFL the past couple seasons. Kelly is known for a brand of offensive football that is based primarily on speedy playmakers, something that the Eagles have a number of in Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy.

No official announcement on Kelly’s contract terms have been released yet. Stay tuned.
