The Missouri Tigers, who will look to build on an impressive 30-5 campaign a year ago, kicked off the 2012-2013 season last night with their Mizzou Madness festivities. The highlight was provided by senior Keion Bell, a transfer from Pepperdine, during the evening’s dunk contest.
Bell is one of a heralded group of transfers, along with Jabari Brown, Alex Oriakhi and Earnest Ross, who will provide head coach Frank Haith with solid depth. The 6’4″ guard averaged 16.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals in 83 games at Pepperdine. And as we’ve seen, his athletic ability will surely bring the crowd at Mizzou Arena to its feet more than a few times over the next few months.
