Deron Williams is the new golden boy of Brooklyn after re-signing a max contract with the Nets over the summer. Apparently Washington Wizards reserve A.J. Price wanted to take a shot at DWill, issuing a hard foul on Williams in the final minutes of their preseason game Monday evening, the first ever at the new Barclays Center.
Per ESPN NY Williams later responded to Price’s foul after the game, issuing a little ether in the process:
Williams said Price, who was raised and played his high school basketball on Long Island, kept saying, ‘I’m home. I’m home.’”
“I hate when people just start talking for no reason,” Williams said. “That’s pretty much what he did.
“Maybe he had some boys in the crowd he wanted to impress while he can with the little minutes he’s going to get this year.
“‘It’s my home now.’ I told him that.”
Well, alright. Brooklyn fans should love that Williams is quickly adopting the city as his own.
