Heading into this year’s NBA draft there weren’t many scouts who questioned the athleticism of Andre Drummond. Refined offensive skills, staying out of foul trouble, and learning help defense at the professional level will be part of the developmental process but around the rim he’s been impressive so far in the preseason.
Against the Bucks Drummond showed off his ability to block shots, then put Ersan Ilyasova on a poster at the other end of the floor. The Heat found out he’s sure handed and can finish in traffic.
It’s only the preseason and the 19-year old Drummond has yet to scratch the surface in terms of unlocking his potential, but you can’t fault Pistons fans for thinking of how good a Greg Monroe (22- years old)/Andre Drummond frontcourt pairing could be.
