The Oklahoma City Thunder have traded 2011-2012 Sixth Man of the Year James Harden to the Houston Rockets, per Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski.
OKC will send Harden, center Cole Aldrich, forward Lazar Hayward and guard Daequan Cook to the Rockets in exchange for guard Kevin Martin, rookie Jeremy Lamb, two 2013 first round draft picks and a 2013 second rounder to complete the deal.
Harden rejected a 4-year, $52 million extension earlier Saturday and the Thunder moved quickly to trade him. Harden is seeking a max deal of $60 million, which would have caused the Thunder to pay luxury taxes they weren’t willing to take on.
Kevin Martin has a $13 million expiring contract for next season, while Jeremy Lamb has potential as a wing scorer in the NBA after playing two seasons at UConn.
Harden, the third overall pick in 2009, averaged 16.8 ppg off the bench for the Thunder last season.
