Kobe Bryant must be trying to earn the label of the best interviewee in the NBA.
Wednesday we posted about Kobe saying that Dwight Howard needs to be more of an a-hole. Well before the Lakers preseason game against the Trail Blazers Wednesday evening, Kobe was at it again, this time in regards to former teammates Smush Parker, Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown:
Kobe Bryant is at his sarcastic, snarky best when he is talking about the 2005-2007 Lakers.

Kobe Bryant: “I almost won an MVP with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown on my team.”

Kobe Bryant: “Smush Parker was the worst. He shouldn’t have been in the NBA but we were too cheap to pay for a point guard.”

Kobe Bryant: “I was shooting 45 times a game. What was I supposed to do? Pass it into Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown?”

Smush Parker was the Lakers starting point guard from 2005-2007, years where Kobe Bryant was in his absolute prime offensively. Kobe averaged 33.5 ppg those seasons while somehow carrying those terrible Lakers teams to the playoffs each of those seasons.
Summer of 2007, Kobe realized he needed help so he demanded a trade but stayed put, the Lakers traded Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol and they win two more championships. And the rest is history.
And what ever happened to Smush Parker? He was signed by Miami as a free agent in 2007 and out of the NBA for good the following summer. I guess Kobe was right.
