Per a report from Yahoo! Sports, Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard has been cleared by trainers to make his preseason debut for the Lakers Sunday evening against the Kings:

After Howard participated in practice on Saturday and a Sunday morning shootaround, sources said Lakers trainer Gary Vitti cleared Howard to play.

The Lakers acquired Howard during the off-season as part of a blockbuster trade involving four teams. Howard had surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back in April and had been participating in practice for with the Lakers during training camp.

Howard’s debut Sunday will mark the first time the Lakers revamped starting lineup with Howard, Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol will play together in live game action. The Lakers begin their regular season Oct. 30 at home against the Mavericks.
