The wait is over for Denver Broncos fans, John Elway, and the rest of the organization. They got their first look at Peyton Manning wearing orange and blue in regular season action. For Manning it’s his first meaningful game since January 8, 2011.
A season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers and their always stout defense was the test for Peyton, one he passed. Manning completed 19 of 26 attempts for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns. His first score put him on a short list that includes Brett Favre and Dan Marino.
It almost seems like among Peyton’s countless records he would’ve eclipsed 400 already. The 2004 Detroit Lions probably felt like he threw for that many against them alone.
Manning has a ways to go to catch Favre and his 508 TD passes but Dan Marino’s 420 is certainly within reach for this season.
New jersey, same results for #18.
