Maximum effort…

For Chicago Cubs fans who have been wondering what Kosuke Fukudome has been up to since the team traded him to the Cleveland Indians last year here’s a quick synopsis. He appeared in 59 games for the Tribe, signed a free agent deal with the Chicago White Sox in February of this year, played in 24 games, was released by Chicago in June, and signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees in July. Most recently Fukudome could be found playing with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (Triple-A).

Yesterday against the Pawtucket Red Sox the former All-Star was on the wrong end of a play that ended up grabbing the top spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10 thanks to a spectacular effort by Jason Repko.

The good news is Fukudome got his home run in the third inning, although it was only a solo shot. The bad news is it appears he was released earlier today.
