The 2012 season for the Miami Marlins is thankfully coming to an end. One that began with excitement surrounding free agent signings Jose Reyes, Heath Bell, and Mark Buehrle along with the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art stadium is coming to a close with the team currently in last place in the NL East. Third baseman Hanley Ramirez was shipped to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Second baseman Omar Infante and starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez are now with the Detroit Tigers.
The lineup card manager Ozzie Guillen is filling out each day isn’t how he imagined it would look when the year began and neither he or the front office envisioned being 25.5 games out of first place on September 15. Predictably there have been a few articles written on whether or not Guillen is the right man for the job and if he will be in the dugout in 2013. ESPN’s Buster Olney is among those to have written such a piece.
In typical Ozzie Guillen fashion he had a few things to say in response and did so via his Twitter account.
buster olney u so full a shit whit u stupidcomments about the miami team we still play hard we yes no wingames i think u no watch.

i think u no watch our games if u say iam bad manager is ok but u ever say my team give up

Olney’s column certainly won’t be the last of its kind to be published between now and the end of 2012 and there will be surely be some with a worse tone. That being said, after the year the Marlins have had you can’t really blame the organization for evaluating everyone (Guillen included) during the offseason. He’s in the first year of a four-year contract so Guillen could be given time to right the ship. Or the team could decide to go in a different direction which would mean no more tweets like these and moments like this.
