Talk about making a bad situation even worse… The replacement referees have been the talk of the NFL season so far, culminating with the debacle that transpired to end Monday Night’s game between the Seahawks and the Packers that basically cost Green Bay the victory.
Per a press release, the NFL is apparently using referees that couldn’t cut it for the Lingerie Football League. Here is the official statement from Mitchell Mortaza, commissioner for the LFL:
“Because of the LFL’s perception it is that much more critical for us to hire officiating crews that are competent, not only for the credibility of our game but to keep our athletes safer. Due to several on-field incompetent officiating we chose to part ways with with a couple crews which apparently are now officiating in the NFL. We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations.
We have not made public comment to date because we felt it was not our place to do so. However in light of tonight’s event, we felt it was only fair that NFL fans knew the truth as to who are officiating these games”
Simply put, commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL have a serious mess on their hands that needs to be rectified ASAP.

What started out as an irritant is now a serious problem. We are ducking the elephant in the room…the greedy owners would put the credibility of the game and the health of the players at risk for $3.5 million in pension payments to the REAL REFEREES! In their minds they must crush the upstart referees because they believe anybody can walk in off the street and perform as a ZEBRA. There is not knowledgement that it takes a specific set of knowledge, skills, and ability to regulate a game with the largest, fastest, and talented individuals in professional sports. WE should boycott the games until the product is worth the money requested by the greedy owners is value received. Where is organized crime when we need them? The betting line moved $150 million on the outcome of this farce.
