Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is only 22-years old but he already has a pretty impressive resume of prodigious home run blasts to his credit. Of the 23 he has hit this season 6 have topped the 450 ft mark according to ESPN Stats & Info.
Back in May Stanton launched a shot off then Colorado Rockies soft tosser Jamie Moyer that damaged the video board at Marlins Park. Later on that month the young slugger got a hold of a Tim Lincecum pitch that ended up hitting the home run
monstrosity sculpture in center field at the Marlins’ new home stadium.
The Marlins are in Colorado for a three-game series this weekend against the Rockies. That means Stanton will be swinging in the thin air of the launching pad that is Coors Field. Given the circumstances we shouldn’t be all that surprised something like this happened.

One of the biggest disappointments this MLB season is that a knee injury robbed us of the opportunity to see Giancarlo Stanton in the Home Run Derby. If I had to make a list of people I’d pay to see swing for the fences he would definitely be at or near the top.
