Since being selected with the #2 overall pick in this year’s draft by the Washington Redskins Robert Griffin III has been highly visible. We’ve seen him in Gatorade spots. And in Subway commercials. Nissan got in on the act and is featuring last year’s Heisman Trophy winner in magazine ads.

RGIII’s biggest deal is with adidas, who went larger than life with this video projection mural on the Newseum’s 74-foot tall first amendment tablet to welcome Griffin to D.C. for his preseason home opener against this year’s top draft pick Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.

Griffin and Luck will forever be linked because of their draft positions, and 1-2 finish in last year’s Heisman voting, but at the moment RGIII has the edge when it comes to endorsements. And that’s just fine with Luck.

The Redskins defeated the Colts 30-17 this afternoon with each rookie quarterback tossing a touchdown pass. Griffin completed 11 of 17 attempts for 74 yards while Luck went 14/23 with 151. You can check out some of the highlights here.
