Tennessee Titans young wide receiver Kenny Britt, who has been in a number of incidents involving law enforcement since entering the NFL, will have to face suspension by the NFL of only 1 game, according to the Jason Wyatt of the Tennessean. Here are details, courtesy of PFT:
Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reported and Mike Florio of PFT has confirmed that the NFL will suspend Britt for one game for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. According to Florio, the suspension is the result of multiple incidents with police. We’ve heard that Britt’s been arrested eight times in the last three years, but Florio reports that there were a total of 10 incidents involved in the league’s decision.
Britt is coming off of an ACL/MCL injury that forced him to miss 13 games last season and is still not 100%, so a one game suspension can be viewed as another week for Britt to get into game shape. And considering the hammer NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has been known to lay down, Britt got off as easy as he could have hoped for.
The Titans open the season against the Patriots in week 1 and will Britt available for week 2 at the Chargers, if healthy. For his three-year career, the talented yet troubled Britt has 101 catches for 1,765 yards and 15 touchdowns while appearing in 31 games, 16 starts.
