Thankfully Dwight Howard has been traded and the saga that seemed like it would never end finally came to an end. Unfortunately for the Brooklyn Nets they weren’t the recipient of the NBA’s best center, the Los Angeles Lakers were
Robert Sacre, a 7’0″ rookie center for the Lakers, is among those (Deron Williams included) who probably would have rather seen Howard wearing Brooklyn black this season instead of Lakers gold. When the second round pick in this year’s draft took part in the league’s rookie photo shoot this week he was forced to do so in the above uniform, which was missing something pretty important.
“Dwight [Howard] took my No. 12 that I was wearing in the Summer League,” the former Gonzaga star explained after the shoot. “I can’t argue with that. That’s what happens when you have seniority. I’m OK with all of this. I just want to get back on the court.”
A rude welcome to the NBA for the rookie indeed. Sacre will switch to #6.
