The rich continue to get richer. Shortly after the blockbuster deal for Dwight Howard became official, the Lakers agreed with shooting specialist Jodie Meeks on a two-year, $3 million deal, according to the LA Times.
Meeks was the best shooter still available in free agency and averaged 8.4 ppg in 50 starts for the Sixers last season, shooting .365 from three-point range. Meeks had his best season in 2010-2010 when he averaged 10.5 ppg and knocked down 39.7% of his three-point attempts.
The signing of Meeks gives the Lakers arguably one of the most complete lineups in the NBA. In addition to Howard and Meeks, the Lakers have acquired point guard Steve Nash and forward Antawn Jamison to strengthen a roster that was bounced form the playoffs in the the second round for the second consecutive year in 2011-2012.
