Andy Reid with son Garrett
Garrett Reid, the oldest son of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid was found dead inside of his room at the Eagles training facility on the campus of Lehigh University. He was 29 years old.
Garrett was assisting Eagles’ strength and conditioning coaches at the camp. Eagles’ practice was held today without Andy Reid. Offensive coordinator Marty Morhinweg and defensive coordinator Juan Castillo watched over the team in his abscence.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman announced news of Garrett’s death at a press conference saying, “This is a tough morning for all of us in the Eagles family. Garrett grew up with this team and that makes this news even harder for us to process.”
The police and the coroner are currently investigating the cause of death, but they say there are no initial signs of foul play.
