This afternoon the Indianapolis Colts made their 2012 preseason debut. That of course meant all eyes would be on Andrew Luck, the man replacing legendary signal caller Peyton Manning. It was only one game half. In the preseason. Against the St. Louis Rams. But during Luck’s time on the field in his first NFL action the former Stanford quarterback looked like he knew what he was doing out there.
The first overall selection in this year’s NFL draft finished his cameo appearance with 188 passing yards, completed 10 of 16 attempts, and had a QB rating of 142.7. Luck also threw 2 touchdowns, including one on his very first pass. Granted running back Donald Brown did the majority of the work on the dump off that turned into a 63-yard score, but it still counts.
The Colts went on to defeat the Rams 38-3.
Here are a few highlights of Luck’s performance.
