Charles Barkley has been known to make a controversial comment (or several) in his time. This one is no different.
While recounting a game when Team USA faced Germany in the late 90′s, Barkley began telling a story of how Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki was cooking Scottie Pippen to the tune of 42 points. Barkley goes on to joke about offering Dirk any amount of money he wanted to play for Barkley’s alma mater Auburn. Watch:
While this may be Chuck being Chuck, it makes you wonder if Barkley was speaking with a little truth to his recruitment methods. But we all know paying for recruits is illegal, right? Right. (See Cam Newton)
