While NFL training camps are just getting underway the Canadian Football League is already four games into its 2012 season. Among the matchups this past weekend was one between Eastern Division foes the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes. In the second quarter Montreal kicker Sean Whyte missed a field goal attempt, which led to this play by Chris Williams.
Thankfully, Hamilton would score a touchdown on the next play and went on to win 39-24. The speedy Williams, who played collegiate ball at New Mexico State, finished with 7 catches for 115 yards and is third in the CFL with 800 combined yards. But of course neither of those were topics of discussion after the game.
“It was just a lack of judgment — it’s not who I am,” Williams said. “I apologized to coach Trestman, my team, the fans … it was just poor judgment and it won’t happen again.”
H/T Game On!
