World champion boxer Adrien Broner is quickly becoming one of the most entertaining, yet arrogant, personalities in all of sports.
Not only has Broner’s boxing skills drawn deserving comparisons to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Broner’s flamboyant antics and attitude are just as flashy as Floyd’s. A classic example is this act Broner pulled Saturday evening after a 5th round TKO over Vicente Escobedo on HBO:
To say the poor girl was embarrassed would be a vast understatement. It’s one thing to get a joke played on you, it’s another to get played on prime time national television. This happened in Broner’s hometown of Cincinnati after Broner intentionally failed to make weight, had to surrender his junior lightweight belt and $60,000 of his purse, and had to negotiate a larger settlement to get Escobedo to even still take the fight.
Broner is an excellent fighter, so most fans will give his arrogant antics a pass. But come on kid; at least have a little respect when it comes to your “girlfriend”.
