Yesterday the Vanderbilt football program let the world get a glimpse of what the Commodores will be wearing this upcoming season as several players modeled the new threads in a Barnes & Noble. One of the newest members of the SEC unveiled theirs earlier today. Texas A&M and adidas put their heads together and came up with a uniform design that will remind those old enough to remember of the ones the Aggies wore during the 70′s.

“Our team is really excited about the new uniforms for the upcoming season,” Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin said.  “adidas has done a great job of developing a uniform that provides a look that blends our great history and tradition, with a modern look that our players and recruits will really like.  We are looking forward to wearing them this inaugural season in the SEC.”

The Aggies will face Louisiana Tech in their season opener on Aug 30 and more than their uniforms and conference will be new. Kevin Sumlin is in as the new head coach after compiling a 35-17 record in four seasons at the University of Houston. He’s bringing with him new offensive (Kliff Kingsbury) and defensive (Mark Snyder) coordinators. The team’s starting quarterback last season, Ryan Tannehill, was selected 8th overall in this year’s NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins and will be reunited with Mike Sherman, who was 25-25 as Texas A&M’s head coach from 2008-2001.
