Once the NCAA slapped Penn State with heavy sanctions and allowing their current student athletes to transfer immediately, you knew the recruiting hounds would be on the prowl. Apparently USC and head coach Lane Kiffin wasted little time and have landed top running back Silas Redd to add to their already potent offensive attack:

Redd rushed for 1,241 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Nittany Lions as a sophomore last season and is regarded as one of the best up-and-coming young running backs in the nation. USC needed more depth at the tailback position after losing three backs to either transfer (Amir Carlisle), dismissal (Dillon Baxter) and injury (Tre Madden) this off-season.

Adding Redd to the mix with Heisman hopeful Matt Barkley and stud wide receivers Robert Woods and Marqise Lee makes the Trojans the immediate favorite to win the Pac-12 and a top contender for a national championship. Expect many other top players to jump from the Penn State ship sooner than later.
