After a disappointing start to the free agency period, the Dallas Mavericks have rebounded nicely, with free agent Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo agreeing to sign with the Mavs. Mayo confirmed his decision via his Twitter account:

Mayo joins the Mavs next season along with recently acquired point guard Darren Collison and center Chris Kaman to give Dallas decent options to pair with all-star Dirk Nowitzki.

Mayo is solid scorer on the perimeter who can create his own shot, averaging 12.6 ppg off the bench for the Grizzlies last season. Mayo was selected third overall by Memphis out of USC in 2008 and has averaged 15.2 ppg in both a starting and reserve role for the Grizzlies.
