The Atlanta Hawks made a move to replace some of the scoring that have lost this off-season, agreeing to terms with FA guard Lou Williams. Williams averaged 14.9 ppg and 3.5 apg in 64 games with the Sixers, all off the bench. Williams is capable of creating his own shot, similar to Crawford. Plus Williams will only be 26 at the start of the season and attended high school in nearby Snellville, GA.

The Hawks traded away all-star Joe Johnson to the Nets and lost sixth man Jamal Crawford to the Clippers so they were in desperate need of a perimeter, a role which Williams filled well for the Sixers. Williams played the first seven years of his career with the Sixers before Philadelphia decided to move in a different direction.

For his career, Lou Williams has averaged 11.3 ppg, 3.0 apg in mostly a reserve role in seven seasons for the Sixers. Philadelphia selected Williams in the second round (45th overall) out of high school in 2005.
