Indians closer Chris Perez has a bit of a love/hate relationship with Tribe fans. While performing very well on the field, he tends to get a bit irritated with Cleveland fans. And they apparently tend to get a bit irritated with him.
Perez has been openly critical of Tribe fans for what he believes is poor attendance which caused quite a backlash earlier in the season. He also tends to make a habit of letting Twitter trolls get under his skin as he’s had more than a couple meltdowns & has lashed back at idiots online.
Tonight, after a Tribe loss, Perez is at it again.
Look, I’m not saying Perez isn’t right for being agitated by morons online, but he’s gotta know that responding is THE worst thing he could do.
Unless he’s trying to just draw attention to himself (either for selfish reasons or to draw attention away from his team’s struggles), it makes zero sense to engage in a Twitter war with fans.
