Free agent center Chris Kaman has agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, per a report from Y! Sports. Kaman’s deal is reportedly for one-year at $8 million. Kaman confirmed the report via his personal Twitter account.
Kaman played for New Orleans in 2011-2012 after he was dealt to the Hornets by the Clippers along with Eric Gordon, Al-Farouq Aminu and a first round pick for Chris Paul. Kaman averaged 13.1 ppg and 7.7 rpg while appearing in 47 games with the Hornets.
Kaman, 30, is a close friend of Dallas superstar Dirk Nowitzki and the two were teammates on the German Olympic team in 2008. Kaman is a solid post scorer, either with his back to the basket or with the mid-range jumper. For his career, Kaman has averaged 11.9 ppg and 8.3 rpg in 9 seasons and was named an all-star for the 2009-2010 season. He was drafted 6th overall by the Clippers in 2003.
