Kansas City Royals outfielder Mitch Maier hasn’t made much of an impact with his bat this season, but he has been brought on as a defensive replacement a few times because of his glove work. In today’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates he showed why manager Ned Yost isn’t afraid to put him in the field in late game situations.
Hats off to Maier for the effort.
Unfortunately Kansas City came up just short, suffering a 3-2 loss.
