With the number of lawsuits by former NFL players against the league over concussion-related problems growing by the day awareness for head injuries is at an all-time high in not only the NFL but all sports. Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation has teamed up with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees to promote PACE (Protecting Athletes through Concussion Education) in an effort to continue spreading the word on concussion safety and education.
In this entertaining, yet informative, video Brees takes to the streets of New York City as a cab driver and poses questions to patrons about the risks of concussions, symptoms, and baseline concussion testing.
The passengers received some free items from Dick’s, got to ride around with a Super Bowl MVP, and learned about concussions in a fun setting. A well done collaboration and mission complete for Brees and the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation.
It’s also good to see Brees keeping his reaction time where it needs to be so he doesn’t miss a beat when he gets back to working out with the Saints after his contract situation has been resolved.
