Selected in the 2002 amateur draft, Tom Wilhelmsen made his Major League debut last season for the Seattle Mariners. Among the things that impressed the organization were his fastball and curveball. The latter was on full display yesterday versus the Chicago White Sox.

Wilhelmsen picked up the win in Seattle’s 10-8 victory over Chicago. Alexei Ramirez was one of four to strikeout against the Seattle reliever, who pitched three scoreless innings and allowed just one hit. For the season Wilhelmsen has a 2-1 record with 34 strikeouts in 28.1 innings pitched.

Ramirez is in today’s lineup so apparently his knees are okay.
