Never a dull moment in the World of Metta

During the final week of the regular season, Lakers forward Metta World Peace committed one of the most memorable moments of the season when he violently elbowed Oklahoma City player James Harden in the head, leading to a concussion for Harden and seven game suspension for Mr. Peace.

Sunday during game three of the NBA finals between OKC and the Miami Heat, MWP too a not-so-subtle jab at Harden’s intelligence after an ill-advised foul on LeBron James:

Well, alright. The player formerly known as Ron Artest elaborated more Monday on the result of Lakers/OKC series, which ended with OKC defeating the Lakers in 5 games:

Have to respect MWP for giving his unabated opinion, which is no different from what millions of us do on a daily basis. In that same regard, MWP has no one to blame but himself for those seven missed games that may have cost him his rhythm and the Lakers a chance at their third NBA title in four seasons.

World Peace isn’t getting younger and at 32 has two seasons left on his Lakers contract ($7.2 mil for 2012-2013 with a $7.7 mil player option for 2013-2014). Hopefully Metta learns from this season and returns next year fully focused on nothing more than helping the Lakers compete for a championship.

You never know what Ron Ron will do next so if not, he definitely has a bright future in reality TV.
